Actor Tamara Braun has announced that she will be leaving the popular NBC soap opera Days of our Lives (DOOL) after almost two years in her most recent run on the show. Braun, who plays the role of Ava Vitali, confirmed her exit in a post on Instagram, thanking fans for their love and support and inviting them to watch her final episode airing today.
Braun first joined DOOL back in 2008, playing the role of Ava, a character connected to Stephen Nichols’ Steve Johnson. She received her first Daytime Emmy award in 2009 in the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series category for her portrayal of Ava. Braun would return briefly to the soap in 2011, taking over the role of Taylor Walker from Natalia Livingston.
Braun reprised her role as Ava in 2015 for the show’s 50th anniversary, but left again in 2016. She returned to the show in November 2020 and has been a regular on DOOL until now. It is not currently known what Braun’s next project will be, but she has previously starred in other soap operas such as All My Children and General Hospital, playing the roles of Reese Williams, Carly Corinthos, and Kim Nero.
