Star Trek Discovery: Season 2 Updates

As the production of the second season is going on, we are getting news from the set and the cast’s social media. The biggest news is that Ethan Peck will be seen in the show as a young Spock. Also, Alex Kurtzman was included in the director’s chain and will perform his duties as executive producer on the show.

Also, for the fans who are missing the show, a miniseries ( or say a series of side stories) of Star Trek Shorts called Short Treks will be available for them. Each episode will be 10-15 minutes long. Episode one, called ‘Runaway’ came on 4th of October. But if you’re living outside the US or Canada, you won’t have the access to these Short Treks as the episodes are only available on CBS All Access.

About the plot of Star Trek Discovery, Season 2, Kurtzman said, “Obviously we were at war last season, so there was a really specific pace to it, [and] things were very serious,” Kurtzman has said. “There are certain things that we now have a lot more time for. I think some of the best Trek episodes are philosophical exploration of ideas and situations and we have more time for that this season. There’s more humor. Also, the characters were getting to know each other last year in a way that they already have firmer relationships with each other now. So we can build on that. It’s now a bridge crew family and a lot of the things that are going to happen this season are going to test them as a family.”

“There’s a lot more levity this season because the war is over,” agreed Sonequa Martin-Green. “So there’s time to joke and laugh and smile and have fun. So while (this season) is deeply emotional, it also has a lot more light-heartedness to it as well, which I think people will enjoy.”

We are so excited about the second season of the show, are you too?
